Inside the B&O museum, Baltimore. This roundhouse contains a number of coaches, wagons, and engines from the collection, and it is easily the most recognizable of the buildings in the complex. Dates from the 1880s. The roof collapsed under snow in 2003 or so. It was a disaster and an opportunity. Some cars were damaged beyond repair, most have been restored and some are awaiting restoration. Turns out, the restoration facility is also a big draw for the crowds. It was closed when we visited, but I think I figured out where some of those beat-up engines, etc. I've been posting are headed for! Part of the visit includes, season permitting, a short train trip past the restoration facility, etc. Old 1940-vintage cars donated by MARC are used for the trip.
