Description
One of the commonest deers in England since it was introduced here is the Muntjac, though shy and secretive it has survived well due to a natural ability to resist certain parasites that often afflict other deer, it is one of the oldest species of deer as can be seen from its two long canine teeth or tusks..
Muntjac bucks have long pedicles from which relatively small antlers grow. Normally a single backward curved antler up to 10 cm in length and terminating in a small hook is grown from each pedicle, although exceptionally a buck

I was interested in the big tear ducts too??? Maybe there's a interesting story here?????? Excellent find Danny, I've never seen any deer like this before??!!!!
I never knew that ! Very interesting. A strange animal it is... but oh so beautiful..
First time I have seen one of these deer. I have seen a few roaming around Edgecumbe Park but not as fierce looking as these. Very unusual and interesting. Nice one!
A few have commenting on this deers unusual eyes so an explanation to those inteested.. The Muntjac deers eyes are large to enable it to see well in the forest, the extented ducts Marlene noticed, are in fact sub orbital glands which is used to secrete a waxy creamy substance to scent mark
