G'day.
Third of a series of figgy shots from Mt Donna Buang east of Melbourne, Australia.
This vertical one is taken whilst testing my newbie = a 12-24mm wide angle lens, hand held with iso 200 as i forgot my tripod.
This is a sub-alpine Eucalyptus forest (Gum trees) that gets some snow in winter (elevation 1250m). The Euc trees lose their bark every spring and reveal new white/multi coloured skins as the bark peels off.
They are my favourite trees (there are 800 different species in Australia ) and they grow everywhere from the driest of our deserts to the harshest snow clad mountain tops!!

magical...with lots to look at in this shot esp the contrast of the bark and moss. Xlt work! Didn't know that Australia had any snow at all!
