Description
This is my first posted Vue image. It was suppose to be about learning to use light but I never got that far. I ran into some problems and would like some suggestions here.
#1) Tried to use a sphere with cloud mat and then tried to use a plane with cloud mat. Did not work because the scale is way too small. Can anyone direct me to a cloud tutorial?
#2) Can you plop render small parts of your image like in Bryce?
#3) Bryce gives you 8 different view presets, looks like Vue only has 4. Are there more?
#4) How do I bring in Vue items that I have purchased? Through 'import'?
Thanks for any helpful hints. I'm sure I need a lot more experimenting but sometimes you can spend an hour trying to figure out how to do something that is simple.
Added the cloud in post (because of above problem) and added a touch of Xero effects to soften the image.

nice start with Vue, great program that will give you some items in applications.. re: my fly macro shot, nerves of steel and maybe 1 to 2 inches from subject... :-)
Your first image?... Is wonderful!!!. I congratulate to you, is a really beautiful landscape!!! Hugsss
If I could help I most certainly would, but can't. I think the scenery is just beautiful.
I am no help for your questions but what I see looks outstanding for a first render post. I am still trying to learn Bryce beyond nothing worth saving
Nancy..that's really fantastic! Beautiful autumn colors..looks like a painting! Magnific scene :)
For a first Vue scene, this is a wonderful one ! Excellentl colors and lighting... keep it up !!
Fine first picture with Vue. Some answers to your questions: 1. Volumetric materials are difficult to work with in Vue, compared to Bryce IMHO. Experiment, as you already did, with scaling, density, functions etc. and you may get the desired results. 2. Use the "Select render area" under the "Picture" tab. 3. I've never found use for more than the 4 views, so I don't know :) 4. You use the "Import object" option under "File" (in Vue 4 it's under "Objects").
I agree with madame E X C E L L E N T
