Description
At the present, lava from the active Pu'u O'o volcano flows out thru lava tubes then feeds into two widely separated lava tubes that sends lava to the sea (the other is not shown here). At other times, there were 4-5 different areas where lava enters the sea. As far as home in the area, there are 3 visible homes that is about an hours walk away from this active lava flow. There are no roads for them to bring food and water supplies. They walk and backpack them in. They live on the Edge. Aloha and thank you for following this moonlite walk with Terry and I

These are very interesting. I thought about your images when making a BBQ the other day, and figured this would be one gigantic and good place to do a cookout. Kidding aside, this is excellent reportage.
Wow this whole series has been so cool to get to see, and this one is no exception.
Thank You to take us on this fantastic " moonlite" lava adventure, and show your island's real nature. Tell Terry to get a yellow short next time (LOL). And hope nothing happening with those ppl who choose to live very close to the alive volcano. Aloha

Hi Eroll, hope you're fine! This is amazing, really looking like another planet ground ! But definitivly not the moon because our satelite is a death end, this terra novae is active!! Great shot dear friend, Aloha, G.
Great shot here Sharky! Really shows me how high up the side of the mountain you really are...you guys are truly daredevils...Splendid shot~ Maka'i~~
What a vast desolate country and very unfriendly I suppose.
The Earth at the originies... Good work!
While this area appears so desolate,it really does have a certain beauty to it.I can see the attraction to these places. You must go through shoes like crazy. As always nicely done! Aloha to you too. :B eaver !
Excellent capture, love the detail and depth!
Genial series Errol, this final shot is superb with those "fumarolas" in the distance.

Impressive, I wish we had things like that here in Missouri, all we have is caves. Thanks for sharing this walk with us.
Always so impressive !!! Bravo:)
Now one think is true...I am crazy for your lava photos...super, super!!!
what a spectacular shot !! gorgeous and sooo HOT !!!... love seeing your lava captures always!!
Stunning!!!
Awwww this one gives a better view of where you've been hiking, AMAZING!!!!!! Love seeing the steam on the horizon as the lava spills into the sea!!!! Beautiful series Errol!!!! Aloha!
With everyone else, I agree this is an amazing series and thank you for sharing them as well. There are many captures I like but this one stood out for me. Like the ancients I feel our planet as a living entity and we are just temporary visitors here. This view resembles a barely glimpsed "eye" (the red glow under the hood of cooled lava) of this world...heat = life, steam/vapor = breath... ever growing, ever changing...
