Description
After an IM to Danamo we discovered that we are on the same wavelength in trying to build a ruined city for differing reasons.
So Danamo, here is my WIP, I took a photo of Melbourne from the office where I work on the 50th floor and turned it into a grayscale. Then using Digimons' tutorial below
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial/index.php?tutorial_id=761
I made it into a terrain lattice using the picture for the elevation and texture and with a few tweaks of smoothing etc I got a city block. I copied and pasted it around to build up into a larger area, applied a couple of textures and added the baxic Bryce spaceship model.
It has a fair way to go, my next challenge will be turning it inot the 'before destruction city'...gulp.
This was no where near ready for post really, as you can tell but I thought i would share to give Danamo a bit of a squiz.
Comments welcome as always (yeah I know a bit of blue is peeking through here and there but oh well, that will get fixed later)
Enjoy.
Jenny

Cool! I like the point of view!! And the uniform texture of your cityscape, adds to the desolate feel!! Great start!! Thanks for the snaps!!
Beautifull city scape great job ^^
very good start!!!
Thanks for posting this Boofy! I think you're really "getting the hang" of the method we discussed. I like it!
