Description
I took this photo before the wedding, between portraits. Someone had dropped a blossom from their bouquet...
Within the branching shade of Reverie
Dreams even may spring till autumn; yet none be
Like woman's budding day-dream spirit-fann'd.
Lo! tow'rd deep skies, not deeper than her look,
She dreams; till now on her forgotten book
Drops the forgotten blossom from her hand.
Poem by Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Touching words and image !
I love the symbolism which may be implied more so reading the accompanying poem. The selective coloring makes it very dramatic.
Interesting capture, Jodie. Poignant, to say the very least.
Beautiful... I love the lone blossom lying there on the steps And perfect poem to accompany this image Excellent sweetie Hugs Susan~
Perfect opportunity for the use of selective coloring!Excellent capture,Jodie. The compo and artistry of this is first-rate and I love the accompanying poem.Poignant work,my friend.-M :^)
Very moving, nicely done once again.
@marlene, it isn't selective coloring. THAT is how I found it and only cropped it. :0)
WoW @ your words only Jodie :D .. Before seeing Marlene's comment.. For a sec i thought it was selective colouring as well.. But before start writing.. Looked deeper and found some colours "shades" on some areas and then knew it was as is :) I really do love how the contrast and lighitng turned out Ms.. Very well done and lovely shot. Thank you and have a nice day JOE
Powerful image and accompanying poem. Good eye! FIVE STARS
I like this image alot. Wish the flower was a bit larger. Had you not mentioned what it was, I might have trouble figuring out what it is. The red against the gray stairs certainly make this picture. When I read that it is not selective coloring, I was even more amazed. The curve around the stairs captures the eye and somehow lead the eye the flower. The compostion of this shot is excellent
this is super......very poetic...love it

Nicely done/said. Looked untouched to me. thanx ;-)
Well seen and stunningly captured!!! A true work of art!!! Well done! 8;-)
Maybe forgotten, but certainly not unnoticed. And now, immortalized in this photograph. The softness of a flower on the carved stone provides a visually pleasing contrast.
