I like the shadows, too, but I think that they could be less stark, while remaining equally effective. They look a bit too solid, for my taste, with bold outlines, whereas less bold shadows might have looked perfect. The basic pose, lighting and render are marvellous.
About time they got their own day. I actually like the light. Gives it an edgy illustrative feel.

Great composition and if you ask me the bold shadows balance the negative space and anchor the image to the frame. They're more than just an artifact of your lighting setup. Very nice work!
