Description

I have not posted for a long time. Been too busy with other things in life, but I am back and still active. This is the Eagle Nebula. I have oriented the shot so you can see the head of the Eagle. This is only a very small part of the whole nebula, it is too big to get the whole thing onto the chip of my little digital CCD thingy. Once again, this nebula features in that Frenchman's list of things what aren't comets, however, he never actually saw the nebula, only the cluster of stars visible to the left in my picture. Picture is a stack of 20 x 25 second exposures taken with an Orion Starshoot CCD camera with thermoelectric cooling through an 8" Orion SkyView Pro telescope.

Nice shot! Once I get the deck built, I'm looking to get my telescope a permanent mount on it.
