Description

"So, you didn't find anything of interest at the Chasm then?", laughed the barman as he looked at the three dust covered adventurers across the bar from him. "Well, let me tell you of another place that will surely be of more interest to you in your quest for... knowledge, wasn't it?" "If you take the coast road from here, past the Lizard marshes, past the Stoney Mountains, you will eventually see a collection of huge stone structures rising out from the ocean. They were constructed hundreds of years ago by an insane wizard named Orbitalis who it was rumoured was able to coax the winds and stone of that area to aid him in his unnatural fascination with piling huge rocks on top of each other. So taken with his creations was he, he began building his home on top of them." "Orbitalis continued building his home over many years, until he too became a casualty of the Night Wars, vanishing during the early days of the war when a thick fog which killed every man, beast, and plant for a hundred miles descended on that part of the coastline." "Should you go there now, you'll still be able to see Orbitalis' twisted home built on top of one of the ten Fingers, untouched by the years, as though it had been built but yesterday. Should you approach along the cliff, you'll also see the armada of abandoned ships and rotting hulks that litter the shallows there. Some blame pirates, some the northmen who use the bay as their final landfall before their long eastward journey across the oceans, while others say that something is waiting in the winds and stone there, protecting the castle from looters, and waiting for Orbitalis to return...." Part 2 of the story done (at this rate it should finish about 2010). Now, off to see what you lot have been doing :) (edit - any similarities between Orbitalis and Joe Vinton are purely coincidental... ;) ) (edit II - for those that are interested, the smaller single tower at the end of the ropebridge is available for download on my website at http://www.digital-wasteland.com ... just find your way to the Resources:Downloads section)

Superbly done. The rock up close on the upper left has a face in profile view. I like the old tower on the right, with one with the roof all worn down, exposed. Outstanding work!

Hey Flak! Looks like you're not here anymore but I'm stopping anyway. Saw you at JC's chat the other day but not your greeting until it had started. Hadn't scrolled down..duh :) I know I commented on this image before but not sure where. Over at 3DC someone made a comment on Foleypro's new work that it was the best Bryce image they'd ever seen. Well, I gotta say that they never saw this beauty then, lol. Fabulous work! Have a great holiday :)

OMG!!! I can't believe my eyes! This has got to be a real photo. The detail is amazing. The image so active and full of life. It is very inspiring. I definitely will wait till 2010 to see the end and all the images along the way. Thank you for sharing.

So this is where DAZ went. No wonder. You do incredible work. Trying out some of my free file downloads, I discovered that Bryce 6.1 rejects LW files. So I had to convert everything to .obj files and then retexture all in Bryce.

Do you have a spare Cray supercomputer in the basement? How the heck did you render this thing? Bryce takes like 5 hours to render Atmospherics on my 3.2 Gig Pentium HT with 7800 GS. No wonder Daz / Bryce choose this as one of their cover scenes!

I couldn't leave, scrolled down and found a 1st-rate story.I'm impressed and agree with every comment I read on my way to the end of the line.I have not yet begun to wait. All I need now is a bryce [?] of my own to play with. Will such a thing be found on eBay?Poor attempt at humour here at the feet of the Master.

No wonder this masterpiece was selected as the main loading screen of Bryce 6, the number of comments is already convincing and of course the imaginative of your talented minds goes beyond the scape of time and place. I will never be able to achieve such extensive of artwork no matter how hard I tried. Perhaps, stealing your brain is an alternative to achieve this. LOL! Watch out! Bravo Masterart piece - 5 STARS!
