Description

Hi folks. This is a shot I took yesterday. As a painter, figures and portraiture were always 'it' for me,and nothing else.Oddly enough, with photography,my goal is much broader...but...I still find portraiture the genre that draws me the most. In the past,I would say that my portrait shots have been more of the 'glamour' type, only accentuating beauty, and saying little else. I'm hoping this one 'says' a little more...So I am leaving this untitled.I don't wish to give any clues as to my intent. If I succeeded,it will 'say' enough, all by itself...If not, well, tomorrow's another day, lol. Thank you for taking the time to look at and/or comment on this,or any of my work, for that matter. It means a lot to me and I value your opinions highly. Have a wonderful week everyone! Sincerely, Marlene :^)

You should call it "My ultimate Masterpiece"...yup...because thats what it is. My goodness what an incredibly sweet photo of Meg. She is sure growing into a very beautiful young woman....with Sesame street-band aids, LOL. How cute is that!!! I do belive i see our beloved Grover there as well. I dare to say that this is the best photo ive seen from you, or anyone else for that matter for a very long time. I just love how her eyes look. Just beautiful! Going straight to favs for sure. Have a wonderful day. #:O)

To me this image says so many things! Like "I knew I shouldn't have dived into the shallow end." Or, "Damn, I wish we hadn't run out of the regular, skin-toned bandages." Or my personal favorite, "I love you Mom!" Anyway, splendid portrait photography Marlene! This is an excellent shot of your dear Meg! May you both have a most wonderful week! [Hugs]

Okay, this workss on so many levels! I agree with Andreas, there is the contrast between the beautiful young woman and the child you raised, only you know exactly how that sensation feels. Then there is a technical level, the shot is so crisp and colorful! And the framing/cropping is wonderfully intimate, a great portrait. Then there is (Forgive me!) a humorous level too! Like she is this super model coming out of the pool, with that band-aid on her forehead!! LOL! Sorry, but it is very cute!! I'm so glad you shared this with us!!

This is very definitely good enough that should the Bandaid company see it, they would want it. I really like the play of light, it brings out her expressive eyes so well. And the contrast between one and the other. Absolutely super. I suppose I could read subliminal messages into the photo, but choose not to. It stands on talent alone. Awesome work!

Two things immediately coming to mind: her eyes say "innocence", but her mouth is adding another facet of which I am not too certain - asking a question? "what?" "why?" Sorry I know I am not good at this, but it is a capture worthy of all the good things said prior to my comment.

I am the most out of touch person I know, lost in my own incomprehensible little world, the chances of me understanding and not upsetting anyone are zero. To me the portrait says: I am just a child. There yer go someone is now upset, I want to understand but I can't. No reflection on your portraiture skills Marlene, more a reflection on my own social skills.

What a delightful portrait. The kiddy bandaid is an interesting if not whimsical touch. A lovely expression.

you caught that moment in a young girl's life where she may look like a young woman, but is still that young and innocent girl at heart. i hope she keeps a good deal of that of the playfulness and adventurous outlook.

WOOOOOOOOOW Marlene!! This is very beautiful shot, of a beautiful model, and from a nother beautiful artist/photographer!! OMG!! Love the lighing and the quality a lot Ms. And i also love the model's facial expression!!! Look at those eyes :) You captured her at the right moment tho, did you know that!! And regarding the title!! Since she is comming out from the swimming pool, means that she have no make up on her face!! Also that is a proof of how she is pretty/beauty!! I would suggest that you can go with: (NATURAL BEAUTIES) ;) how is that! Oh well Marlene.. Very happy to see your posts, and it is really a masterpiece.. Very well done and hope to see more :) Have a nice day Regards, JOE

Great shot. How the heck does she keep her makeup from running when swimming ? lol. Funny coincidence. With Photography, portraiture was my last interest, but with painting or other media it was my first interest. LOL. Excellent shot !!!

The first thing coming to mind is 'confidence'. There's a young exploring woman with beautiful eyes asking for direction and trusting that she will find it where she's looking at (you). I'm sure that no-one else could have captured that same expression on her face. It's just fantastic to see this... Masterclass work, Marlene! Thanks..!

One of my first thoughts was, "poor girl" what on earth did she run into???? then I looked at the bandaid and it made me laugh, then the eyes caught my attention and that was the hook for me... such expressive eyes, your daughter has... What a fun image to stimulate thoughts & ideas.... Well done Marlene!!!!!! It's fun to read eveyone's comments... a very interactive piece... love it!!!!!!

I think you should title it "Stuck on you"...I think you've captured your daughter's spirit with this awesome shot. The eyes are the pathway into a persons soul and the eyes are definitly the focal point even out doing the bandaid. Just like her mom, your daughter's beautiful..
