Description

"The temple of art is built of words. Painting and sculpture and music are but the blazon of its windows, borrowing all their significance from the light, and suggestive only of the temple's uses." ~ Josiah Gilbert Holland

"All right, then, get back to your temple before you give us all galloping religious mania!" ~ Doctor Who

Here is a belated homage to this month's Gommie, Akemi (nongo). She has the "Zen Eye" for finding art in nature and seemingly whatever she turns the viewfinder of her camera upon. Her recent "Beach Art" photograph reminded me of this one I had taken not too long ago on Cumberland Island. I stumbled out of the dunes and onto a deserted stretch of beach to find this sand sculpted devotional. Whether is was made by man or crab may never be known... Congrats again Akemi on the Gallery of the Month award. You deserve it! ----- Thank you for your little puffy comments on my last upload, cloudscapes.

Nothing to crab about here! Good capture and interesting concept. I wonder what the ceremony is all about. Never realized those decapod creatures were into the religion thing. Do they make sacrifices to their god(s)?

Look -- it's a born-again Crustacean! It actually appears there are remnants of some of the sacrifices scattered about the base of that altar.... Interesting find (and a bit bizarre, too). Fascinating.

Brilliant beach art! I love the way how you show those sea animals! They symbolize the captivity but they are still free on the beach here! Excellent taken nature photography! I love the peaceful atmosphere here! Bravo!!!
