Description

So I started making textures and bump maps for a "T'Pol suit" from the later seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise, when it occured to me that since the suit was skin tight anyways, I should just make it a 2nd skin. Well here's the result so far. I've still got A LOT of work to do on this, and I may just abandon it. Notice on the side profile the warping of the lines, I believe that comes from the magnets used to deform V3 here. In other words, either I continue with a warped looking texture or I go back and make a Jolene/T'pol body entirely with daz morphs to avoid the warping (eliminating the need for magnet, but also the versatility that comes with them). So i'm in a bit of a pickle here... I've also got to fix the collar, colour, add patches and a nametag, and fix the back of her hair. I might even switch the skin tex used, this one doesn't work so well under these lights. Anyways, since I was on a trek streak and haven't posted a Jolene/T'Pol image lately I just thought I'd post this. Aside from making this a composite piece, there's no postwork here, it's raw render. Credits: body mags used to make the body by wyrmmaster, hair by daz, boots by batlab, face, suit tex and bump by me. The background was made with some freestuff primatives. While a normal prefer your unclothed females I have to say that this second skin looks pretty decent so far.

That is really amazing work. I remember seeing something of yours (couple months ago?) where you had created an original suit. I was really impressed with your designs. You even created little details like the extra ribbing around the wrist. That is sooo cool! Teach me that one day, wouldja'? :P ;)

I see the dilemna with the magnets, though I've no real experience with them. Still, it looks really good overall. Bummer you find yourself in a catch-22 like this. Now mind you I've no idea how tough this is, but couldn't you "bend" the lines on the texture somewhat so they get bent back into a straighter line by the magnets? Good luck with it whatever way you go. :)

Very cool! I think using the catsuit might be better, or maybe not! But, when you finished with it, you know where to em it!!(or else, no more T'pol renders from me!)

Wonderful accomplishment with the texturing, It's not easy doing it at the best of times, but you've come very, very close! Congrats! :)
