Description

I posted this after seeing the wonderful shots of the art of Dale Chiluly which were posted by TwoPynts. If you are interested in glass art of a different sort, visit TwoPynts gallery and take a look. Dale Chihuly is a glass worker. His creations are different and strange to some. He has created in his studio work amazing renderings in a molten to solidified medium...timing is all critical in glass work. He once visited the Waterford Glass factory in Ireland and apparently all there had a great time. So, I post this shot of glass balls floating in a pool at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio, USA. This was taken in the fall of 2005. If interested, this is one of my best uses of proper exposure in the first and only shot. The info is: 1/100 sec, F/7.1, ISO 200, 47mm equivalent crop image. Spot metering. Lighting was fine and natural to begin with and that was a plus.

His stuff is just amazing, and this is a great shot of it :) I've got one in my own gallery (Swan Lake), taken at the Kew installation last year. Am glad you got to see such wonderful artistry first-hand, and thanks also for sharing it in such a lovely fashion.
