Description
Maybe this doesn't belong in the Macro section, since technically it was a tremendous zoom as opposed to a macro setting. I'm still really proud of it. There were about four of these little blue and black damsel flies, little blue rods hovering around the grass and weeds at the edge of the pond. It took alot of waiting for them to get still enough to photograph; I came away with five or so photos and this was by far the best. I wish I'd made a video so I could show you the peculiar way they flew. You couldn't even see their little wings until they stopped.
EDIT: yesitis3 tells me it is a damsel fly, not a dragonfly.

actually it is a damselfly and a very beautiful one.telephotos has macro option at least mine do.damselflies are much harder to get close to than dragonflies and definetly harder to see. you did a marvelous capture. al the info you want can be found on http://www.enature.com/home/
