Description
More along the lines of fake fan magazines, for which there was never anything to be a fan of! Presumably "Mechanical Insect" and "Bug Review" are merged, making a new magazine. Not many fans because one of these beauts takes lots of care and feeding. Hats off to tizjezzme for the great shots of insects here on renderosity.

Carrara bulged, bent and tapered a sphere. Bryce added more primitives, booleans, materials, render regular, with depth mask and with object mask, combined and embellished with PhotoShop.

Coooooool! Wonderful cover spoof Jim!
Oh perfect! Looks like a real magazine layout and your bug rocks!!!
I don't know what's stranger - the concept or your description of the process - they're comparably incomprehensible. Agree with Digimon about overlapping the text with those itchy-looking legs. But there's no scale indicated! Is this hopper food for a mechanical crab, or its predator?
looks professoinal - XLT bug
