Description

This is a second shot of the same dragonfly posted in the previous image. This one lovely creature was cooperative, with gently approaching the insect allowed me to get very close, with eyes only and then with camera. I tried to pose the shot a bit different from clinical textbook insect shots. Then again, the dragon had something to do with that, certainly.

Another beauty. I, too, love the pov in this one .. and seeing the color of the leaves through his wings .. nice job.

A nice dof and good detailed capture - I applaud your different approach, not sure it has come off 100% because of the lighting, but a good image non the less. These creatures do seem more approachable when below their eye line, perhaps because they hunt by scanning upwards for passing insects. The difficulty with the lower angle is the shots are often backlit, I have found that using a small amount of fill flash from the cameras on board flash (-2/3rds) is often enough to bring out the colours and make the dragonfly seperate from the backgound. Congrats again on a good sharp photograph :)
