Description
Toxic whispered to Jaeko as he led the way up the stairs, "Who was the guy with the long pointy knife and big dinner plate on his arm?"
Jaeko rolled his eyes and whisppered back, "He is an 'Eye of the Machine God'. He carried a Sword and Shield. God. Were you raised by animals?"
"Jaeko--you are very rude. I am ignorant. Not stupid." Toxic thought about doing something rude to Jaeko's pretty cape with her scythe, and stopped at the top of the stairs. She felt someone look at her with hate and pain.
Jeet, the small squirrel derived beastman went around her and he whispered, "I'm much nicer, than Jaeko. You should show me your boobies."
Jaeko growled softly over his shoulder, "I think the fuzzy rat-bastard should take point, in case of death-traps!"
Jaeko opened the door easy and quiet. Down the dim hall, he saw the contorted kneeling skeleton of a man, still steaming in a pale ray of late afternoon sunlight. Jaeko had only been joking about the 'death-trap' comment, but the cold fear of a lethal surprise clenched up his bowels.
Toxic, on the stair landing turned and stared at someone. One hundred yards away, a figure holding a sniper-rifle and looking at her, stood up straighter, realizing that the sniper nest was given away.
Toxic recogized the figure. Toxic's shoulders rounded in sadness and regret and with one backward glance at the lone sniper, follwed Jaeko and Jeet into the darkened warehouse.
Neon shifted around and fell to the seat of her motorcycle. Neon was gasping for air, like a swimmer running of air and drops of sweat fell from her face onto her breasts. She quelled her rage and anger and put her riffle up. She had the shot. She could have pulled the trigger and didn't. She hurt so bad everytime she saw that woman.
She revved up her baike and headed a safeway toward the warehouse. There was going to be a reckoning today, she swore it on the memory of the dead.
