Two days ago my dad noticed a turtle crawling across the driveway, and decided to help it get to water. Of course I had to get some pictures; I can't even remember the last time I saw a turtle in the wild. The reason this photo is so sharp is because I just set the camera on the ground in front of the turtle, set it on close-up with no flash, and snapped away until dad came out of the house with a bucket, in which he carried the turtle to the safety of the nearby pond (you know, the one where I get all my frog pics?). Bonus Shots Upon being released the turtle did something very un-turtle-like -- skittered out of the bucket and under a pile of wet leaves like a little cat. Speaking of cats, there was a huge black cat just up the road from the pond but it ran away before I could get close. There's also been a large, skinny-tailed tabby prowling our yard every now and then for the past week. The next time he comes around I'll try to get a picture.
