Description

Now this is what I call a fun shoot: Have you ever seen more perfect models making men (boys?) of all ages drool? Sorry about the distracting fences which had to be erected around the ladies, men just couldn't keep their hands off! *LOL*

These old faithfuls played a major role in developing South Africa as an agricultural giant in Africa. Changing the scene from subsistence to mechanised, scientific, commercial farming. I wish I had more space to cover all the veteran machinery and engines on display. If you are interested in listening to a purring (chugging?) Ruston & Hornsby engine from the 1930's, click on this link and sit back...

By the way Jodie, just to show other people have decent tractors too: here is an immaculately maintained 1954 Molin tractor on display - manufactured in Minneapolis - and we don't hide it in the snow, LOL!

A little info on the statue: It depicts a farmer with Bible in hand looking up at the skies, presumably uttering the words at the bottom of the statue.

I hope you enjoyed the bit of fun, thanks for every comment and visit. The previous posts:

How wonderful to know that South Africa is making progress. This looks like it was a wonderful show and yes, I can imagine that all of the 'boys' had a very good time. Nice to hear from you! HUGS!!

I love tractors...yup...gotta admit that i do. That was the first vehicle i got to drive actually. I used to help out on my friends farm, plowing fields from i was around 10 years old. Dad wouldnt let me drive the lawnmover till i was 13...and then i drove it straight into a little creek so i never got to do that again, lol. Beautiful shots my friend, takes me back a few years when life was so much easier and fun. Have a wonderful weekend. #:O)

Ah yes....but let me say it's not the snow that gets it as much as the salt to counteract the snow!! Silly Minnesotans. Lovely work here, Piet. :0)
