Description
I saw a sweet little Hummer outside my window first thing this morning ... adrenaline pumping, I ran upstairs, nearly tripping over my nightgown and grabbed my camera. Of course, when I ran back down, it was gone. So, I went outside and sat in a lawn chair, just waiting. 5 minutes later, still nothing, but hubby was standing at the door with his smiley face. He came out and asked what I was doing (I should have told him I was outside with my camera baking a cake) .. I told him about the Hummer I saw, and then what should come along as soon as I said that? Yup...the hummer. So he stands there, not 2 feet away from it and hollers and points "There's your hummer" -- and it flys away.... If looks could kill. :) He felt bad and knew he had to get the heck outta there and so to make up for it, he brewed a great pot of coffee.
Long story short .. (oops too late LOL) .. my Hummer came back (the bird). lol Not the greatest shots ... why all the 'noise' in the shots?? I was told to remove noise in Image Ready CS ... but all I saw was despeckle; and I'm not crazy about that. So, I did all kinds of things here .. including using the magic wand tool and using a 'smart blur' in certain areas. It's a very gray morning, too .. no sunshine .. so I was dealing with that too. Anyway, here's the hummer ... *whew* .. Have yourselves a great day !!!! And thanks so much for stopping by. Your views and comments are very appreciated. (And ADVICE!!!)
Take care,
Shari

You got a good one here Shari! I know how hard it is to get these little guys. As for the noise, what camera, ISO, exposure, etc. did you use? In CS2 (not ImageReady) Filter/Noise/Reduce Noise can do a good job. If you want to send me the file, I'd be glad to take a look at it. If your camera can shoot RAW, I'd highly recommend that for future shots!
WOWWWW!!! Lucky you Shari! Gorgeous!! (green with envy) A hummingbird and fuschia in one shot! :-) I love fuschia by the way, but come summer here and I can't get it to live for anything. Oh I use Photoshop Elements 4.0 and it has a noise reduction filter too.
A great story and a superb photograph to go with it - congrats ! Doesn't look overly noisy now you have worked it, these must be difficult to capture unless the light is perfect hence the noise I would suspect.
A beautiful shot. Superb point of view!
Lovely shot. I know how tough it is to get good shots of hummers. I've had a similar experience with someone driving away the thing I'm trying to take a picture of.:(
