Description
With his neck feathers puffed out this African crowned crane poses for his mate. Then he blows up the red sac on his throat and calls, Ya-oo-goo-lung! Ya-oo-goo-lung! before raising his bill in the air..
Crowned cranes have the same partners for their whole life. And they pose and call to each other every day, all year long. and rarely remain very far apart. It's the cranes' way of keeping close - almost like a couple in love on the telephone, saying sweet nothings to each other.
