O.K. so it's not a WRX, but it's Subie, I dirve a 4x4 sports wagon 4 cyl. 1800 and it leaves the big fat stoopid V8's for dead...well for the first 400 meters ! great capture and car Richard Cheers
Groovy! Great shots :-)
Awwwwww hey she's a cutie!! Kinda looks like one of those animated Chevron commercals. What are the chances huh? I'm a sucker for an old car. Boy if this car could talk!! LOL!
I love these quirky little cars - thanks!
Marvelous little car. Probably uneasy to operate now because it's a two-stroke engine and certainly not a good road-holding, nearly impossible to get spare parts, but so cute Strange that it has "suicide" doors, as was only the case of the Beetle prototype V30 (1937), the production models (since 1938) had normal ones For a very long time (1981-93) I had a VW Combi, the first model with split windscreen, marvelous design by the great Erwin Kommenda (Porsche's designer) I think, it was exchanged for a VW Beetle that my son kept until 2004. Then now he has a Smart rear-engined car, which is as funny as this Subaru and even yet sold a collector!
My dream car! :D It probably got its best mileage at about 45mph; 25hp is barely enough to push that shape against the wind at highway speed, and you'd have to floor it to keep it above 60!
I remember when these came on the market.... also the break in instructions. couldn't run over 35 MPH for the first several hundred miles and then run slowly up to the max....in steps and no prolonged running at a set speed till breakin was complete... . & no up hill for the first 500 miles or so...... wasn't bad for a inner-city car but heaven help the poor guy that tried to run on the freeway.... Thanks for the memorys...
Wow.. I'm a three in a row Subaru owner. 2 cycle? Holy cow. Wonderful and thank you.
