Nice use of the overlay, for a great desert scene. Perhaps you can decrease the slope constraint for the sand, to give more contrast with the darker color of the distant rocks.

Excellent "wind swept" effect. Flatted top surfaces are very real to me. I once saw this effect over a large area near the ghost town of Reward in Ca. Well Done Bob. The sky also gives you the feel for the winds in the area. V for the sand.

YOU NAILED THIS ONE BOB!!! Just A Super Render in all aspects!!! I love that it is very deep and that the Mtns are so far away. It appears as though we are finally climbing out of the desert when we get to the Mtns!!!!! Gorgeous Work Here!!!
