Finally found some time to get more of this project done! Hoorah!
It's a strange thing this project, I haven't decided exactly where to take it. The characters have been hanging around in my head for over 10 years now and I feel I've reached a place in my life where I can finally let them out to meet (or eat) other people.
I've had many ideas for stories involving these guys but I've found it hard to really capture them in writing without heading towards things that have already been done. But then you have to accept that certain vampiric themes will (of course) apply to things involving vampires.
As I paint these characters it gives me dedicated time to concentrate on each one specifically and develop their visual traits whilst trying to get an essence of who they are into the picture.
Once I've completed this series I'm planning on getting the series of short stories done, some of which I may post here if I'm happy with them!
So...
I'd like you to meet Alexi:
She was born in Ulyanovsk, Russia but left after her parents died. It's not exactly clear how they died but it wasn't under natural circumstances. Being the only witness and also the person most wanted to "assist" the police in their enquiries didn't appeal to Alexi so she left Russia and spent a long time avoiding the authorities, living an almost feral existence until she was "recruited" by a certain organisation that shall remain nameless for now.
Whilst on an undercover mission she met Lillia and was given the option of a painful death or immortality.
Not a hard choice really given Alexi's moral ambiguity.
She's a technical expert, prefers knives to guns, likes thin men with haunted eyes and can translate between 8 langauges as long as it's in writing as she hasn't spoken since her parents died.
One of her associates has made it her personal goal to get Alexi to talk as she finds her silence incredibly frustrating and once resorted to stabbing Alexi in the back to see if she'd scream.
She didn't scream but her friend did wake up minus two fingers a week later.
Alexi is usually calm and reasonable apart from the time around the anniversary of her parent's death when she relies on Lillia to make sure she doesn't kill too many innocent people.
She's particularly fond of harpsicords and has a strange aversion to apples. No one knows why.
