Description
I spotted this fellow displaying his breeding plumage while driving by a golf course. My passengers had to cool their heels while I captured his (obviously proud) pose.
Glad you popped by!

Great Blue Heron, great capture! There always seems something sinister in a heron's eyes, quite evident in this photo. Nicely done
How could you capture this one? Here they are always so very shy, even those that live in public parks... 300mm tele I guess ;-)
nice topknot, and quite a stare
Lucky you, I can never manage to get close to these guys. Fantastic capture!
Ha ha, love that proud pose! Stunning work! :)
Wow! Superb capture! I tried to capture a heron yesterday but he was too far from me to have a good image! Bravo!!!

We have these in our area, but I can never get close enough to get a shot..... so I just have to be content watching them fly off!!!! LOL :P This is a wonderful capture!!!! Lucky you!!!!

They are amazing looking birds. I photographed one a few months ago from a much greater distance with the wrong size lens, but I could tell it was a special looking bird. Your shot just confirms that.
