Description
This abandoned old farm is located near the tiny rural town of Gethsemane, in Edgecombe County North Carolina.
What led to its demise is unknown. The land around it is still used for farming cotton, but the buildings themselves remain empty, waiting until the day they are finally torn down.
This image was captured on February 2, 2006 at 11:06am, using a Nikon D50 outfit.
Thanks for looking, I hope you're enjoying this series, which will continue for the next couple of weeks.

Excellent shot. I'm looking forward to see more from you.
excellent view..well seen
love this serie!and the pano effect in this one!
I don't know why, but I think that this one is more impressive than the others of your serie. Maybe because there are so many buildings in this farm. So sad ! The big trees seems to be the guardians of the place, protecting all the farm. Superb panorama Troy ! I love it ! Hugs. V
Beautiful capture of these rural farms in this peaceful Gethsemane reminding to that very place in Israel! Impressive work, Troy, love the mood and the pano-effect! :)
Splendid capture and landscape!!! Bravo :)
to think of the life that was there now abandoned.. you've captured it perfectly in the long crop! :]
Ooooh, Troy, this is so beautiful ! I like the pano landscape very much ! Excellentissime photography, perfectly presented ! :~)
I agree. This is one of my favorites in this series too! Thinking of the family, working, playing together. No idea why this one was lost huh? Thats too bad. Fabulous shot!
Nicely photographed.
It is becoming pretty clear that unlike rural areas near Portland, Oregon--the stark contrasts between past and present are alot more visable where you are and certainly alot more interesting/mysterious/thought provoking . Thanks for continuing the series Troy---carry on!
Such a waste, so many homeless and these place could all be used for them...could hive a start to a new dream and a citizen that contributes rather than one who has to live off others..I love that you are doing these, I hate that they are wasted and torn down. I think you have a pretty big heart my friend, you see something in these as I do, maybe not the same exactly but close enough. Its a grand thing that you do, giving them thier own place in history...thank you...for sharing them and you! Bravo on this series, just beauties all!!!
Beautiful presentation and capture!
ANy ghosts? Love the crop!
