Description

If you fail to spot the Leadwood tree, please read the warning sounded by a friend recently in a poem. Maybe you will think twice next time, hopefully before you flick away a cigarette butt. The tree in the photograph was estimated to have been 50 years old.

Even in Hawaii...someone flick away a cigarette butt into the dry grassy area and acres of land is scorched. Excellent capture. Aloha

What a shame... 50 years reduced to nothing in 50 mins! Lovely shot, love the blue hue of the smoke!

This is truly a very dramatic photo of nature in it's worst state, however, gives an empression of the old that has passed away, making way for the new, good work

50 years of building wood destroyed by a simple fire. Too bad when people throw away their cigarettes.... If those cigarettes would never have been invented many forests would exist now though? Fantastic work, Piet! :)

Excellent capture, Piet. Looks not of this world.. So sad!!! Know only to well the risk of fires. Howdale Moor, on the headland opposite my home burned for five days and nights in 2003. I cried..... Hugs, Di. Howdale is recovering now...
