Description
I talking about Cypress Knees.. The top photo is some cypress knees is some of the biggest I saw. I saw some bigger but could not get to them. I had no gun and I on foot here. I not worry about bobcats ; they most the time will not mess with you. Now gators is a diff story and that is what I was thinking of.
So I took the photos on a timer. I am 6 feet 4 inches tall. I standing right behind the cypress knees.
The bottom photo is what you will see most the time they are the noral size cypress knees.
Both photos was tooken on cloudly days. Top one in the afternoon and bottom one in the morning of diff days.
I did get bite by some ants on the top photo so watch out as you walk in the wild. Not worry about snakes.
Thanks for looking and comments and all
Yes you can see the water level was highter on the top photo. that was done from the Hurcanes we had here 6 months ago.
Those trees is cypress trees and it against the law to cut them or the knees.
This is going west on I-10 just past Jennings, Louisiana

Excellent shots Jock!
Thanx for sharing your native wild nature lands Jocko. A treat to see for us who don't live in that neck of the woods! Great info you share also! :)
I never heard about Cypress Knees. This is so interesting.
What interesting country. You can't imagine (or maybe you can) how different and interesting it is to someone who has never been there. The top photo is an amazing tangle.
