Description
Its a shame that vandals had destroyed this shrine on my mountain Mauna Kea. I had posted this shrine before. See "Highest Shrine" .
See Hawaii local news "Shrine destroyed" .
This image posted here is before it was damaged. The rocks were thrown down the side of the hill and the rest is history. There is no more shrine. Aloha and thank you for viewing

there are various kinds to destroy shrines - only some are obviously visible - others may even be more dangerous and destructive...
l remember you uploading the shrine..No respect its happened in my village also with head stones.. massive hugs Errol know how much hertiage means especially sacried..:( love p'graphy tho.. almost surreal with the perspective..:)
A diguisting act of violence. Karma should get them back real good.
Je crois qu'il s'agit d'un acte de vandalisme mais je ne comprends pas bien, si quelqu'un passe et peut traduire; merci d'avance ! la photo est belle et les couleurs aussi !
Eh...i cant even spot the difference. #:o( But regardless if its obvious or not, its still a disgrace how certain people lack the respect for others. SHAME ON THEM!!!!! Noticed that you had to register to read the news. Have a great day Errol! #:O)
Very od shot :) Those futuristic "observatorium" & that old pile of stones...has some one destroyed the pile? A shame that people can't show some respect!! Is it sort of a burrielplace?

Ciao!I am entirely in agreement with you my dear friend! There is not more the respect for nothing and for nobody!! In this world happen often of the shameful facts! It displeases me really to see than they happen these facts!I wish you a serene weekend!a big hug!
Generally it is not "hate crimes" or specific motives, as I see it. Mostly just lack of respect and pure and simple meanness...wickedness toward those things others appreciated. I do like the juxtaposed image..with the observatory and the old shrine in this image.
May the parties involved wake up screaming in the night! Some people just can't leave things alone as in this case....I'm sure they will get what's coming to them...thanks for sharing! Alooha
No way, thats just so wrong. I dont get how people can be so mean. I mean, its destroying something like that....just.Well I never get such thinking really, just beyond me. Its a very beautifull photo, and great to get to see how it was.
Too bad to see the unknown is not respected by certain people, destroying what they do not know and not knowing how they devastate people! :( I'm very sorry to see this. The clouds on the background, however, look untouched and fascinate me. A weird combination, though.
Disgusting ! Everywhere is happening things like this one. The pic is really superb... love this compo with the combination of the two worlds !
WHERE WE LIVE IS THE SAME PROBLEM......PEOPLE DON'T RESPECT THINGS ANYMORE...SAD TO HEAR...NICE POST
Sad to hear about the vandals. It's every where. This is a very beautiful picture!! What a view!!!
sad to hear this. guess they thinking of building another looky at the stars building[just kidding] a good shot of the old and the new ways of Hawaii. And people should have more respect
That's a real shame...major bummer
The human race is soooooo hard to teach respect to, seem like it's never taught to most folks. Someday, something they revere will disapear...thanks for sharing... sad news... :(
Brudda, that is SO wrong. A disrespectful and unthinking few ruin things for so many. I'm so sorry to hear about the shrine Errol. =[
oh man!! that is a shame.. sure to bring the vandals bad luck.. glad you got a pic of it before it gone
how very sad, most unfortunate that others are so willing to destroy something like this. I would rebuild it if I were there, kinda stubborn I guess.
