Description
The Crater Copernicus (on the moon).
Taken with an 8" Reflecting scope and a ToUcam webcam.
The moon is 240000 miles away. The setup I was using was set at a magnification of 600x. So this picture is equivalent to flying just 400 miles from the surface of the moon.

Fantastic, I can't wait to get my ETX-125 setup and have a clear night for viewing.
Wow, a magnification of 600 times is fantastic to see the details of the moon! Excellent work, breathtaking! :)
For those interested, the crater shown here is visible on my post from yesterday as a large white lumpy crater in front of the young lady's nose (Moon and Venus). It looks very different here because it was on the very edge of the lit portion of the moon, that is, it was approaching evening with very long shadows.
wonderful moon shot!
Excellent!
awesome shot !!! i would love to have a telescope and take this kind of shot ! brilliant!!
Spectacular! Looks like we are orbiting!
