Description
If only a rose could speak,
What would it say?
A flower of love and passion,
What would fall from those lips?
The whisper of an embrace
Trapped within the leaves of lust?
A stabbing cry
From a thorn to the very heart?
What would that blessed rose say?
Would it speak of trust and love,
Of betrayal and heartache?
A passion known only to lovers,
A sacred blossom of promises,
Broken and kept,
Those yet to be made?
Yet the bud remains silent,
Whispers within the petals to be
Forgotten in time, as love
Is often bound within it.
Forget them not, the lost lovers,
For their tears weave
Within the fiery pigment.
Plant the seed and watch it grow,
For it is all your cause and effect,
A blossom.

I know, bad poem...lol, writer's block. It'd knock Stephen King off his feet.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.

i like your pic and excelllent scene :)
Not a bad poem, very good feelings captured in this one. Great!
I think your poem is excellent-thats a good writers block! I can now look at roses in a different light as I've always had a slight aversion to them since I went to my first funeral as a child and thats what they've reminded me of. Now when I see a rose I will not look for the Grim Reaper to jump out at me but instead ponder the secret mysteries of love. Thanks-I like my new glasses!
