Description
When the galactic republic seized worlds of strategical value during the clone wars, it wasn't called invasion. The term used by the forces of the republic was liberation, pacification or preemtive security action, but in fact it was still the same as every coup.
The backbone of the republican navy during those operations were the ships of the Acclamator class, built first by Rothana Heavy Engineering and later by its mother company Kuat. With the advent of the Imperator class star destroyers under imperial reign, the acclamator class went into second line duty and was mostly used for supply and logistics. Nevertheless, the Acclamator ships were potent and dangerous warships, capable of landing thousands of soldiers with heavy equipment and supplying orbital support fire for the troops below.
