Here's another find from the park. This log is about two cubits long and 2/3 cubit in diameter. :P We'll go back and measure tomorrow.
I didn't think this would even come out because we have no macro setting. If you know what kind of critter makes these designs please enlighten us.
Thanks for looking and for commments & tips. Hope your lives are as filled with joy as mine!

Those little wormies are artists too! But enough about the Renderosity gang! LOL! ; ) They do make cool patterns!!
So where did you find the Egyptian wood, scarab beetles might have a munch, but most probably not, just some type of Borer's. Great capture & Cheer's :o)
Beetles did this work of art. I think the larger ones was done by gurg worms I guess.
I have no idea who can do this but it's really an interesting pattern! Cool photo!!
So, what kind of wood is it? I've seen these kinds of marks on old lumps of tree limbs before. Never knew what made them either. So is jocko500 the most knowledgeable when it comes to bugs? Pretty different subject matter, but it got us all talking about it. That's a good thing.
Beautiful capture of this wood processed by the worms! It looks like an old tablet with inscriptions! Excellent work, very original! :)
Very interesting textures. Very well captured!
Wow, what a wood texture, briliant
O! super Photo !!! nice texture !!
OH...pretty cool. Good eyes to catch that. Great shot.
Unbelievable designs of nature. Part of me wants to know what made them. The other loves the thoughts that flood my head in wonder. All I know is that it was the cooles log I've ever seen. And I am sure glad there were more of them, so we could have one at home.
Nature is plenty of original artists. Great discovery and capture!.
Doesn't nature provide us with them most fantastic designs and subjects for photos :D Interesting picture and great shot. Thanks for sharing it with us.
