OK, Does anybody know what these are? This pic was taken, at night of course, down into the woods from a house on a mountain, in Transylvania County, NC.
My Oly c5060w was used with night setting- shq quality. Pic was dark so I upped the gamma and these appeared, I also sharpened it, and enhanced the contrast a bit, not caring much 'bout the quality for this shot. I enlarged one of them to see what it might be. This isn't the first time this has happened. I briefly had a Sony 717 and found the same "critters" when I took a shot into the night, over the bay.
The lens' are immaculate.

I saw something like this on a TV program, I thought they call it orbs, I am not sure maybe these are orbs? http://theshadowlands.net/ghost/orbs.htm
This is a guess. Somehow it's a reflection off the tree. If you look at the lit up ,tree at a little below the marked round dot, you will see a sort of line in it (left to right). The same line is in the round dot too. Are you sure there weren't any dots of moisture on the lens? The pure white dot near the bottom, looks like a reflection off the white mail box.Try taking the picture without the flash and using a long exposure instead. If you need to use the flash, try putting a thin piece of cloth over it, to soften the light. Hope this helps. - Bob
I've heard of orbs, tangibleheart, but I didn't think they looked like this. That would be spooky. I don't know if I want to know! Yikes!! bob4artist, I'm possitive there was no moisture on the lens, and the air was quite dry, too dry in fact! The stream that runs behind all these trees has dwindled to a trickle. I figured the bright white dot had to do with bounced light, but the 3d like blob that I blew up, doesn't matchup to that; and if you look closely, you'll see there are many more very faint globs. The tiny white lights in the background come from houses across a small valley, on another mountain. I also, as I said, had this happen on another camera. Oh, also, on the camera I used for this pic, I had a polarizing filter,~and I will try your sugestions also. I'm thinking they might be globs of micro-organisms that we just can't see, lest they're inadvertently lighted up just right~by some goofy experimentalist like me- LOL.
I've heard of people seeing things like balls of gas floating around in KY at night where I'm from. Have you ever seen these orbs with your naked eye.
Nope, killerchiller. I've seen some strange things, like lightning bouncing 'round inside a house while just missing the occupants, and then blowing out the tv while my eyes nearly undressed themselves from their sockets, but haven't seen anything like these except in some of my shots, ~and never inside a house, even in the dark.
