Description
This fireplace and chimney stand alone under this grand old tree as a testament to a family's dreams gone by, hence the title.
I captured this image on November 13, 2005 at around 3:30pm, just outside the Enfield area of Halifax County, North Carolina.
Thanks for looking, have a most wonderful day!

Beautiful..but sad...
Speaking of excellant! Wow, and I don't find it sad at all, its a beautiful memory, that it is still standing says to me that it was well cared for..its history of a better kind..Awesome Troy, superb capture! (thanks for your visit:-))
True...Very beautifull but so sad...Definitively,North Carolina is full of beautifull secrets...
Or maybe just a tribute to a great happy family? That ones that remain unknowed. As usual you do miracles with the camera! Wonderful photo!!
A so lovely place... it's sad to see that only this chimney is still here. Who could know the story of this place, and the story of the persons who lived there long time ago... A very nostalgic but beautiful shot Troy. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas !!!!
An awesome capture, yet almost sad. Although you see it everywhere. Can even still see the old fences in the bachground where horses/cattle were kept. Cool!
Great shot..It would make a good anchor point for a new family to start their dreams..
This is a beautiful image, so nostalgic. As magical as all your pics! I love your style! bravo Troy!!!
Very nice phto nice colour and lighting. It looks like it would be great for a romatic fanstasy movie scene
Great find of this remnant, reminds me of vulcans that have been eorded with only the lava-pipe (of more resistant material) standing... :) Gorgeous work, Troy, after the harvest the farmer can have a nice barbecue here!
Very beautiful solitary scene you have captured. Excellent photography!
I felt very tender eyes clearly
I like the presentation of this image V***
Another mystery--i guess if this old fireplace--or is it an incinerator?-- were around where i live, someone would have salvaged those bricks a long time ago. Which leads me to think that you are often in places that not many people visit--spooky/cool..
