It is soooo tiny! What an experience to hold this one in your hand. Totally rocks!
Gosh, how little this sweetie is! Unbelievable - and he fits in your hand so well! Looks absolutely cute!
That is totally amazing!!!!! Wow! He is sooooo cute and beautiful!!!!!!
Wow that is something. Is the bird hurt? I sure would not ever be able to get one in my hand unless it could not fly.
Wow!! How cool! Great shot of this little bird. Did it fly into a window?
I took the picture of my wife holding it after it was banded by a birdologist from Nashville. A Rufous is rare in our region so all of it's statistics will go into a data base. It flew off right after I took this particular picture and returned to drinking at the feeder. I have to get up in the morning before dawn to change the feeder when it freezes.
Excellent and VOTE :)
I'm speechless! That's just awesome!
Excellent shot, Stan. I don't think I've ever seen a hummer motionless before, let alone sitting in someome's hand. :-)
Astonishing!! I've seen plenty of these little guys around our hummingbird feeders, but this is the first time I've seen one so close up, let alone motionless!! Wonderful clarity and detail!

Wonderful close shot. Beautiful. Don't know how you got it to sit in your hand.
that's one tame bird. great capture.
Wow! How did you get her to sit in the hand?
this is bird is soooo small, i have had a tit on my hand when i was feeding the birds in the park with nuts. but compared to this little wonder a tit is a giant. and the hummingbird seems so calm.
Beautiful image. It must feel special to have it on the palm.
