Beam weapon? i would have made it some kind of bazooka,actually..but none the less admireable detail in the model
Excellent work! Only question for me is if the carry handle is really in the center of weight, which I would expect to be further back. Perhaps you should also make the thumbhole in the grip a bit bigger. The military prefers weapons that can be fired, even when the soldiers have to wear cold weather gloves. Minor details, as you can tell. I love it. :D

i think a good model is already great before texturing... good texturing should give a model good textures.. not make the model work... i even think a good modeller is more a shader-man than a texture-man... great job, perfect moebius-detail/surface-contrast again... which you can't find much around renderosity, i have to say.
