Introducing the USS Cumberland & Command Module Icarus
This is the first image that I will be posting showing my latest work the USS Cumberland. I have decided that the mission for this ship should be to Saturn and not to Mars as I had previously stated. The ship is still a work in progress but, I feel that the actual ship is getting near to completion. The command module was named the USS Icarus as I am still tweaking how this part of the ship will look. If you would like to take a more in-depth look at how this model was created please visit my website. I will also be posting in the next week over 20 new images showing the various redesigns of this model. Thanks again for taking the time to view and comment on my work.

Great version of the Discovery from "2001".
You are definitely a master modeler! Will definitely check out the other pics.
now I have 'the Gayne Ballet Suite' stuck in me head..;) keep it going..
I was going to say, can anybody say UNSS Discovery, LOL. Seriously this is fantastic, the design is so usefull for extreme range exploration.
Fantastic! Love the way we can get a glimpse into the cockpit! The details, as always, are perfect!
Top notch model, and a very ambitious mission, Saturn. Safe journey to you and your crew ;)
Beautiful model, it evokes the film so well.
As always your ships have a credibility born from the logic of their design.
