Description
"He who rejects change is the architect of decay.
The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery."
--Harold Wilson
For those of you who prefer color, here are three early morning views at the location of yesterday's photo. The St. Augustine National Cemetery is adjacent to the Coast Guard Station and a National Guard Station, facing the bay in historic St. Augustine. The Coast Guard's long and distinguished history as a humanitarian service is documented through artifacts, art and memorials.

a sobering view. I have only been to one military cemetary and it is in Manila, Philippines. brings to light the suffering of the people fighting politicians wars

Hmmmm....aint both "black" and "white" colors??? Me sooo confused now...bla bla...These are some pretty beautiful shots Kort. I especially like that top one. That tree and that flag makes for a perfect compo. Great job putting these together. Have a great day. #:O)

Salute.......................Aloha
I have been to St Augustine. Didn't see this one. I also like the first one the best. Just the atmosphere with the sky etc. Very well done. Aloha
A generation which ignores history has no past and no future wrote Robert Heinlein. It's good to know history and cemeteries are part of them, where we honor the generations of which we are offspring. Wonderful work, Kort!
Harold Wilson - you are actually quoting Harold Wilson???? - I hope its not the same Harold Wilson who loved pontificating about change while he did everything he could to prevent it happening. - Charles
love the words!but they are wrong, in the mouth of harold wilson, or it's a joke!

All three shots are very well done Kortalouche. The presentation,as usual,is perfect!Classic and excellently balanced.I find the first one particularly good compo-wise.Re CDBrugg and DELMUR...HUH?I thought Harold Wilson sang with the Bluenotes.LOL.-M ;^)

Kort, you should have posted these next month on the 11th(Veterans day)...These shots are a small reminder that millions have given their lives for this country..great shots..
Very good work. Well. Not sure about the 11 November suggestion... See, I'm a veteran and I'm still chugging! I think Ray was thinking of Memorial Day... that or the Poppy Day angle.
For those who have given their live for us, they deserve the respect:):):)...V

In some way this image honours the death of soldiers and at the same time is a cry for peace and no more fighting. Thank you.
