Description
First: The background is some wallpaper I found ages ago on a site having to do with Chihuahua Pharohs. It's probably still out there and definitely a giggle.
Little-known ferret fact # 44: Ferrets were domesticated in Egypt hundreds of years before cats were. This image purports to show why cats were a 'rush job' for domestication.
Little-known Egyptian fact # 34,842: Pets were often mummified. OK, I made that number up, but the fact is true. So, knowing this, we had to find out how difficult it would be to make a ferret mummy (I've never heard of one being found. Cats, oh yea. Sure. A creature that never moves is no challenge. How about taking on a creature that won't sit still? There! Mummify that if you can! Ha!)
(Breathing calmer now and on decaf...)
So we conducted some experiments with the modern equivalent of mummy wrappings: ACE bandages. As you can see in the left imags, ahem! Ming and Squirrel make fine-looking mummies. Nice, tight wrappings.
Center top image: Some mummies are obviously not too tightly wrapped. Rufus (who else) decided it is actually more fun to make fun of cooperative ferrets than to cooperate.
Center bottom image: Rufus is making fun of poor Ming who just gives up and rolls over to play Mummy.
Right image: This is not to say that Rufus is not interested in the wrappings! He just does not want to be the insert.
Now what did we just learn from this?
I expect everyone to write a 10 page essay on the effects of having 1. too much time on ones' hands, 2. too many ferrets under ones' foots, 3. too much ACE bandage on ones' hands, 4. too much caffeine in ones' coffee, and 5. needing a life.
OK?
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
Ah... essays are optional. Just enjoy... that's an order, darnit!

Great job catching them in the poses. Bet it was hard to keep them still long enough to snap the pictures. Ferrets are great pets and so much fun.
