This is an update on our beloved Barnabi Rabbit. I'm happy to say that he's gaining weight and looking handsome as ever - this picture was taken today, isn't he adorable?
He's still on formula, and drinking a lot of it. I feed him about five times during the day. He lets me know when he needs it by jumping around like a freak inside his little box.
Barnabi likes to be held, and we think he's blind, so it's often around the house you'll see me with him in my hand or in my pocket. He loves people. Very sweet little bunny, and I didn't expect him to be doing as well as he is when we first got him.
He's getting a little chubby, too!
Thanks to EVERYONE for their concern and help, it's been a real pleasure to see so many people care about a tiny little rabbit. And Barnabi (or as I've taken to calling him, B-Rabbit) thanks you all, too. :)

Oh my goodness I love the babies... lol He is soooo beautiful! :) I must've missed it, but what happened to him? Did something happen with a snake? IM me and let me know.
I have two rabbits of my own, one is a dwarf and the other is a large, mixed breed. The best way to learn how to care for rabbits is to get books at the pet store. Also, there is a yearly magazine called Rabbit USA that is most helpful. They should not be out in hot weather, it can kill them. They don't like sun or harsh light, it hurts their eyes. They are "prey" animals so they are instinctively scared. Even when they are used to you, they will still cower. It's their nature. If you haven't taken it to a vet yet, you need to do that. If he's a male and you do get another male they will fight when they are a few months old. They have to be neutered. A male and female get along well, but they have to be fixed of you'll have lots of baby rabbits. They are very prolific and they mate when they are a few months old. Once a rabbit eats pellets, they also need lots of Timothy hay, it aids their digestion and this is VERY important. (Do NOT use alfalfa hay.) Also, use pine shavings for bedding, NOT cedar shavings. Rabbits are allergic to cedar and it can cause them harm. They require a lot of work, but they are worth it. I wouldn't give my bunnies up for anything. Good Luck.

I'm so glad to hear he's doing well. Sounds like you've made it through the tough spell. :) Rabbits have excellent long range sight so they can see predators, but their close range sight is not so hot, so it can sometimes seem like they don't see you until the last second. On the other hand, maybe he really is blind and that's how he ended up in the snake's mouth in the first place. A vet can help you determine that. In any case, keep posting his pictures. He's a doll and you're a sweetie for taking him in. :)
