This portraiture is of Queen Beelizah Hundrant, of Floating City 64. Queen is not quite right of a translation, but she does rule the city, many believe by divine right. The floating cities are like the independant city-states of old-time. They vie against each other and form transitory alliances all across the world of Balaam. Queen Belizah was 10 years old when her world's seas died, and the fire-times came and went. Her father was of ancient aristocratic lineage, was the highest ranked government official on the city at the time, so she became 'queen'. She is canny,with a geniuos intellect, and witty. Her keen intellect is reflected in her hard as diamond demeanor. She is not above the occasional joking riposte in diplomatic circles. She can appear grand-motherly, but only when it is to her best advantage. She has two children, Crown-prince Alzerhad and Princess Talmula. She constantly seeks advantage over the other flying cities and increase Floating City 64's prestige. She wants a future for her children and grandchildren, and she's tough enough to walk over the bodies of the dead to do so. She is dangerous and tough because she has to be. Media is Poser 4. I started playing with hand-made texture maps and bump-maps (to creat 3D appearance from 2D surfaces) and morphs to change faces and such, and ended up with a figure I recognized. I had the mental picture of what Queen Beelizah looked like and BAM--there she was. I wanted to do an older woman (or man) and had to do the textures by hand.
