Panel painting gave way to scallops and then the flames could be stylized into whisps that flew off the sashes of outlined color after streaming witches hair had run the surface like seaweed. So it was that air brush work could not hold the detail. I never did like the WW-I German helmet look of this pickup's nose which was ludicrous when you openned the hood to check the oil. It was later in 1967 that critics began to find fault with the smallest edge saying it was "draggy." Along the way a lot of ink was spent on a lot of paint.
