Eating habits vary and are strange. On the left we have Hamster Louie. He is currently holding the title 'Ancient One.' At about 6+ years old, he is doing pretty good, but he needs to be fed a bit more often. The usual pick-me-up treat is baby food: chicken with chicken gravy. Watered down about 50/50 with water, of course. The other ferrets have this 6th sense to know when Hamster is thinking about being fed. As soon as he gets his treat, at least one other will appear. In this case we have Minwax on the right. Ferrets eat and sleep in just about any position they can get into. Some are much sillier than others, the positions too. They are eating on the stairs of course, but the stairs have been modified. Note the clear plastic awning fastend to the the bottom of the stair case. The permits the through-lighting of the original plan, and it funnels an ferrets who fall off the back of a riser into two hammocks at the bottom of the ramp under the stairs. These safety nets don't get much business, but the overall arrangement has stopped several nasty falls. Ferrets tend to play rough... and they don't care where. While the whole setup is not attractive, neither are very expensive veterinary bills. Enjoy; thanks for viewing. Little-known ferret fact #33: 'Ferret' from the Phoenician word 'ferret' meaning small fuzzy animal that gets into all sorts of trouble you never imagined. "The 'cat' idea may catch on after all."
