Every night he stares out of the window and every night she walks by with the new guy. He doesn't know why he tortures himself like this. When his friends call "how you doing mate" he replys "I'm doing fine...real fine" .

This I would say is the quintessential film noir photo. These are the impressions I get from the image: mystery,regret, sadness, longing, heartache,torture. Incredible job on this shot using an early version ? of Poser. This is definitely a new favourite of mine.
