Yes.  You need to switch the figure to Poser Unimesh (Figure>Skinning Method) which will active the subdivision dial on the Properties Tab.  You can dial up the subdivision from there.

Yes, you increase subdivision. Is that what you are asking or am I misunderstanding the term 'resolution' you are using?

The problem with Dawn is that her neck is too long and head too big to be a human. Starting with a human skeleton would have avoided that error.

If the geometry and rigging are wrong NOTHING ELSR MATTERS. We are hard wired from birth with the ability to read body language. Our brains do not store pictures, they store 3d models linked to little bits of detail linked to those models. If the 3d geometry is wrong we immediately know what we are looking at can't be real no matter what the details look like. On the other hand get the model and its geometry just right and the pose true enough and our minds will automatically fill in fine points missing in the model and render. This is how human vision works.

And you can learn in art school anatomy classes how to manipulate the human model for different artistic styles. That is why anyone attempting to design a 3d human model should go to art school and get A+ in your anatomy classes.

I don't think I have anything else to say on the figure realism matter. Also since the eye is nothing like a camera 'photorealism' has nothing to do with psychological realism, what looks real to our eyes, or any kind of art at all.

So put together unless you want to play with virtual photography I can't think of any reason any artist would want to own any version of Poser after 11. Poser people, Start talking to actual artists. Learn how rel artists use the product. You can find them in the galleries - and you may have to go back five or ten years because so many have given up already..

Thanks for the response. I have it set to unimesh. I didn't realise there was a dial also I will check it out. Thanks for the help.

No, that would be it. I did know to make sure it was set on Unimesh. I was unaware there was also a dial you could increase it with.

Thanks for the help.

Neck length and head size can all be changed quite easily.

Maybe the rigging in Poser is not as good as in DS. I've never had any issues in DS and I also use the genesis figures from time to time. I've only started to use the figure in Poser and mainly to set up morphs and other items.

So far I haven't seen any issues but maybe I'm not the perfectionist that you seem to be.

Also if I see a problem with a figure and I want to use it I'll see if I can fix it. Seems to me like your opinion on Dawn is set.

That's your choice use a different figure but if none of the figures in Poser are good enough for you then maybe you should have a go at creating your own figure that will meet your criteria?

I am figure agnostic.

I will use what ever I need for a scene,

With no special needs I us LFH original because I have the morphs (some of wich are no longer availabl.

If I do not have s specific morph, I will create one (examples Head Horizontal and verticle because scale does not get included in swawn morph)

disagreements over figures is to me, like difference between thin mints and oreos.

I did store items for the original dawn in return for getting dawn +morphs in exchange

seh worked well, but  did not have the JCM's the LaFemme did (which I also got without buying)

This thread is supposed to be about Poser,  not the best figure

No problem and yes, Figure--/Skinning-->Poser Unimesh, then go to the Properties tab of the Parameter Dials palette and use the Subdivision Levels (I don't recommend more than 2 levels though).
