Paid Ads?

Comments

If you go to paid ads (I hope not), please make them all artwork related. (3D, 2D, whatever.) And only stationary stuff. No videos that hijack the screen. I've stopped visiting various sites because of having flashy things yakking at me and refusing to go away. (The only place a video is acceptable is if I'm previewing a product I'm thinking of buying, and then it'd better be about the product.)
a good start would be giving us back what we org had, from the cheap few buck one, to the higher priced banners and email blasts
As Rowan54 said, I also think it's important for you to be careful with the type of advertisement, and demand themes related to art. This, for me, is a big difference between you and your competitors. In the Daz store, for example, you see generic Google Ads ads everywhere, ridiculous, especially for premium users. By the way, allowing premium users to hide ads could be an added attraction, just ideas, PolyHaven did something like that.
Maybe some electronic Hardware Ads (CPU , Graphics cards, Motherboards,...etc), something to add-up to the art-related adds but is profitable to you at the same time & won't ruin the general theme of Rendo.
I agree with everything said so far. Nothing flashy. All art related. But please don't do away with the free ads.
The old paid advertising, where you could buy a daily ad or schedule it for X number of days, "Sponsored Product Advertising" or also the "Renderosity 728x90 Leaderboard Banner" for 30-365 days used to work
Agree with 3DLoki, give us the options we previously had, especially the more inexpensive ads and the email blasts.
Please don't....no/few 3rd party ads will make the site look cheap.(and it's also annoying) I can't speak for my fellow vendors but I don't like the thought of a potential customer/or already a customer feeling annoyed before even making their way to my store. If you decide 'yes' then please keep them art related as Rowen54 mentioned and/OR also let us go back to having our own banners. My sales have dropped ever since we had that change where we can't post our own banners anymore. :)
I agree with 3DLoki. What we originally had worked well.
I think i pay enough for advertising here already.
Adding to what Rowan54 posted above. Ads can have drastic pitfalls. The question you posed doesn't describe any of the reasons for needing ads nor any of the potential benefits. For instance ad revenue, who sees what? Is this all for Renderosity? Is it to alleviate Renderosity hosting costs? Does this allow for Lower prices for consumer? Are the ads intended to help highlight vendors or to sell *** pills, "singles", TEMU or whatever else we randomly are forced to view from traditional ads? (Ads should be meant to attract people TO Renderosity; not away from it) Need more info before I can have an opinion on the matter.
Can you clarify? Do you mean giving us the option back to purchase our own ads or are you talking about outside ads?
Rowan 54 has it right. And being able to buy a low cost ad as before paid off for us in increased sales. It really was a win/win for everyone.
If the question is referring to vendor paid Ads? Then the old paid advertising system work well, never understood why it was removed, where vendors could buy a daily Ad and schedule the Ad for a certain day or number of days. This helped bring attention to a vendor's store, and always made the money back when I used it. However, if you're talking about what kind of 3rd-party Ads?... I would say those types of Ads can make a site look cheap, like the kind of sites that rip-off our products and pirate all our stuff.
This is a very open ended question with basically no direction as to why it was asked, or where it is going. Asking the question of "looking for paid advertisements" that are gone, is more than a bit odd. Ads were already taken away, and we are not looking for them now that they are gone.... If this does have any to do with the ads vendors used to be able to purchase, why even ask that? Or are you suggesting opening it up to cookie tracking ads all over the site, making things load even slower than they do now..... As many others have said. If this is about what was taken away just put it back and stop trying to reinvent the wheel all the time. All you are doing is driving even more vendors away to your competition. Everyone here can see that plainly just from opening their email.
I agree with Foxhound_Co These give us the opportunity to actually promote our products right here where they are sold. "Then the old paid advertising system work well, never understood why it was removed, where vendors could buy a daily Ad and schedule the Ad for a certain day or number of days. If you're referring to ads on the site from other companies & the like, I very strongly urge management to read this thread at the DAZ forums where they have introduced ads & people are not happy! https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/674796/gallery-ads-popups/p1 Not just because the ads exist, but also they type of ads that are showing up & even DAZ is having to have certain ads removed as they're not real ads. I'd tread very carefully if you don't wish to further alienate customers. If it is about vendors being able to purchase ads again, I'm not fussed either way. Never had an ad increase sales - and I didn't get enough in sales to be able to afford regular ads anyways.
To be clear these paid ads will only be sponsored by the vendors for product promotions. I hope this clears things up.
Thank you for clearing that up for everyone Ashley. To be honest though, it shouldn't have taken 7 days to clarify this.
