Entry #47

When I was a child about 6 or 7 years old, we had a very cold winter. A lot of snow, chilly winds and streets covered with ice. A few days before christmas Grandpa took all of his grandchildren to town for a cup of hot chocolate and some sweet cookies. I guess, it was originally an idea of my mother and grandmother to have us out of the house for a few hours, but it became a tradition that we cherished and loved for many years.

On this first occasion we saw Santa Claus with a large bag over his shoulder walking down the street. He was in a hurry and suddenly slipped on the icy walkway. He lost his bag, which opened and many small presents were rolling around. We children were immediately there and recollected the presents, while others helped Santa get up again. He thanked us all, praised our quick reactions and wished a merry, merry christmas.

It was a good experience and memory that lasted for a long time.

The best thing however was, that a shopkeeper, who had observed the whole scene, came over and donated each of us a bar of chocolate ....

This image is about the bag and the presents .... I hope the elves get their chocolate, too.

It took several hours to compose, mainly to find many of these older items in my runtimes, and render this image in Poser, postwork in Photoshop.
