"Twas The Night"

We were a military family while our kids were growing up and as such, we were very close making our holidays very special. While away from our childhood families our little family of 5 worked together to make each and every Christmas a memorable one.

Part of our special Christmas tradition started on Christmas Eve when we all would open one gift, the new Christmas jammies. We would all go and put on our new jammies in preparation for the night's suspense.  Usually the girls would wheedle just one more gift before we would all settle down. Usually it would be something I had made special for them. Ofcourse our four legged friends were always a big part of our holidays.

In this creation I have depicted just such a Christmas Eve with this little family. Dad is reading the story of the very first Christmas while Mom watches Tommy playing with the puppy he had asked for and little Evie played with the special doll handmade just for her. 

I created this using Daz Studio 4.9 pro and Photoshop to reduce the size and make the thumbnail.

When I finally made up my mind on what to do, I worked on this on and off over about a week. Maybe took about 20 hours all total, including test renders and final 3 hour render in iray.

Ofcourse, my inspiration was some of the happiest memories of Christmases while my girls were still filled with the wonder of the season.
